The existing preschool building had seen little or no renovation over the years and was rejuvenated with this refurbishment upgrade. The building was also bought into line with the relevant Australia Standards and The Building Code of Practice.
The works were completed in 2009 following a seventeen week programme, which included a significant amount of hazardous materials removal (consisting mostly of asbestos).
Major construction activities included a complete façade upgrade with new windows, rendered and painted brickwork, existing roof restored, new car park, revamping of shade and play areas, artificial turf, new landscaping and fencing. Internally the building was stripped out making way for three play rooms, child accessible amenities, an administration area, kitchen and laundry area.
The new building has a pin security system entry and is fully air-conditioned.
