Description

Water restrictions, limited space, and urban living have combined in the increasing demand for professional, eco-friendly car wash services. Glen Dorn saw such a need. After seeking DA approval for his block of land in Elizabeth Street, Urangan, Metcalfe Constructions were engaged as Construction Managers to facilitate the fast track of his new car wash.

The design incorporated optimal use of the land accommodating the building, driveways, tanks and equipment. While not necessarily a challenging construction, it was in fact a complex project due to the specific requirements of the car wash equipment.

Construction consisted of tilt up panels with concrete slab on ground construction with structural steel roof.State of the art filtration and water recycling system was installed to meet stringent environmental demands and recycle up to 95% of the water used and reducing usage of town water. Strict sound and light control measures were also taken into consideration once the car wash was operational.

The Car Wash was a unique project for Metcalfe Constructions to complete and the result is an exciting addition our portfolio.
