The design for this 1000 square metre building was about making the client budget stretch as far as it could without compromising quality.
The project consists of a large hall with stage area for church services, foyer area capable of holding small functions or weddings, male and female amenities, cry room/playroom for children and an external entry area for people to congregate before and after church. Particular attention was taken in the design of the hall/stage area to insure that acoustic performance of this area was the best that it could be. Acoustic rate ceilings, walls and floors were used to soften the unwanted noise.
The external structure was concrete tilt panel construction and the roof was structural steel rafters and purlins.
The stage floor was constructed from engineered timber products and slide out front stage extension was designed and installed to create a larger stage area when required. The stage front was lined with a plywood panel feature. Wheel chair complaint access ramp was constructed for access to the stage area.
Internally the appearance is modern and upbeat and creates an experience that is reflective and calming.
